The Acting Inspector General of Police AIG Usman Alkali Baba Tuesday launched a new security outfit in the south east region code named Operation Restored Peace in Enugu south east Nigeria.
At the launching ceremony held at Micheal Opara Square, Enugu, AIG Baba explains that the new security outfit became necessary considering the current security challenge in the country.

He charged officers and men of the Nigerian police involved in the operations to ensure the protection of lives and property in the region.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state who was a special guest at the event commended the AIG for the initiative.
The governors of the five south east region, Abia state, Anambra state, Ebonyi state and Imo sent their representatives as well as other stakeholders in the zone.
Also in attendance were the commissioners of police from the five south east commands.
