Two Clubs, Inter Milan of Italy and Sevilla of Spain, will fight the battle of their lives tonight to determine this year’s UEFA Europa League Champions.
The much anticipated final is the icing on the cake as supporters of both sides believe their teams have what it takes to rule European Football. Tonight’s encounter will tell a better story, sadly though most of them will watch the game from the comfort of their homes.
Tonight’s final is the 49th season of Europe’s secondary club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 11th season since it was renamed from the UEFA Cup to the UEFA Europa League.
For the new champion therefore, tonight’s victory will be an added bonus going into 2021.
For Coach Antonio Conte of Inter Milan, this presents an excellent opportunity to demonstrate his managerial skills to break a 9-year trophy drought for his Italian club sides.
Record five-time winners, Sevilla sent out English Premiership side and favourite Manchester United with a 2-1 win in the last four, as Inter Milan bashed Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine 5 nil.
Inter began the season in the Champions League, finishing third behind Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund and got demoted to the Europa League. But they have won all five matches ever since on the road to the final.
Sevilla’s boss Julen Lopetegui, employed on a 3-year deal in June 2019, has ambition too. The former Spanish national team and Real Madrid coach, hasn’t won any title as manager.
Tonight’s final holds at the Rhein Energie STADION, empty arena in Cologne Germany.
