The Katsina State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has confirmed a fatal road crash that claimed 22 lives and left three others injured.
Spokesperson of the Command, Abubakar Usman, who made the confirmation in a statement, said the incident occurred at about 6:30 pm on Saturday after Jare Bridge in Kafur Local Government Area of the state.
Route Commander Usman further stated that out of the 36 occupants of the two J5 buses, 22 died as the two vehicles busted into flames burning some of the passengers beyond recognition.
He hinted that the crash was caused as a result of tire burst and loss of control by the two drivers resulting in a fatal head on collusion.

The statement added that the injured victims were taken to Malumfashi General Hospital by men of the Nigerian Police for medical attention, while the dead have been buried according to Islamic rites by the community and religious leaders.
