FCT- ABUJA

The Federal Capital Territory public school teachers have embarked on an indefinite strike over non payment of their salary arrears and minimum wage increments.

Some public schools visited by ait.live demonstrated total compliance as both
offices and classrooms were under lock and key.

Few students who were seen within the school’s premises confirmed the teachers strike.

Few others who refused to speak on camera said the strike has put on hold their first term examinations which they started last week.

The FCT Minister had earlier cleared some of the outstanding salary arrears of teachers in the territory.
