The Adamawa State Government has received 100 trucks of assorted grains from the National Food Reserve.
It was approved as palliative for distribution, to vulnerable persons affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouk, who was in Yola to deliver the food items, said that the federal government plans to also sensitised the people on minimizing losses, through adherence to Flood Warning Alerts and Proper Response.
Receiving the Palliative, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri expressed appreciation to the Buhari administration for donating the food items at a time, when the prices of foodstuff have skyrocketed.
He called on the Federal Government, to complete the abandoned Chochi Irrigation Project and dredge the River Benue, as a measure to avert the perennial flooding,which devaste some communities in the state.

The food items include, Forty six trailer loads of maize, six of millet and forty-eight trailer load of sorghum, among others.
