Herders in Taraba State have been benefiting from the 24,600 bags of livestock feed, and 6,000 bags of salt and mineral licks.
They are being distributed by the Federal Government, in partnership with Taraba, to support livestock production in the State.
The gesture is expected to minimize the conflict between crop and livestock farmers, over grazing land.
The roaming of livestock into farm lands to graze have been at the core of incessant conflicts between crop and livestock farmers in Taraba State.
The donation of the livestock feed and salt mineral licks to herders in the state aims at giving livestock farmers the same support enjoyed by crop farmers, over the years.
Taraba State Commissioner for Agriculture, David Kassa says, arrangements have been put in place to encourage a cordial relationship between crop and livestock farmers in the state.
Part of the arrangement is the approval for the setting up of a model ranch, to train herders on modern methods of livestock production by the state government.
The beneficiaries say, the donation has given them the sense of belonging accorded crop farmers across the country.
The beneficiaries include, representatives of the Fulani Socio-Cultural groups.
