The Federal Government has sent relief materials to the victims of Ogbogonogo market fire disaster in Asaba, Delta State, and South-South Nigeria.
Delivering the materials to the state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa in Asaba, the minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development, Sadiyar Umar Farouk commended the proactive measure of Delta State government in containing the spread of the fire.
She said that the team was in the state on the directive of President Buhari to find ways of assisting the Ogbogonogo traders who lost their means of livelihood through the unfortunate fire incident.
Receiving the relief materials which include building materials, food items, sewing machines, hair dryers among others for onward distribution to the fire victims, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa expressed gratitude to President Buhari describing the action as thoughtful and prompt.

On the entourage to Delta State, were the minister of state for labour and employment, Festus Keyamo, and Director-General NEMA, Air Vice Marshal Muhammadu Muhammed.
The minister and her team also visited the scene of the fire outbreak and sympatized with the affected traders.
