The Federal Government has said its commitment to reposition the Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC) and the Presidential Amnesty Programme for effective service delivery in the region remain on course.
President Mohammadu Buhari stated this while declaring open the 4th meeting of the National Council on Niger Delta in Port Harcourt.
The 4th meeting of the National Council on Niger Delta attracted State governments, development agencies, traditional rulers, women and youths of the Niger Delta region.

President Buhari who was represented by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio said the Federal Government is determined to reposition the NDDC and the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
Akpabio assured that the east/west road which has been a major challenge to road users would be completed between the end of 2021 and March 2022.
