Former Governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu returned to the Senate on Tuesday after six months in jail over allegation of corruption.
Kalu arrived the lobby of the Senate wing into the waiting arms of journalists who had laid ambush from early hours of the day for him.
An elated Kalu said he was glad to be back to work and that he needs to hit the ground running to cover up for the loss of time to provide quality representation for his constituents in Abia North.
Kalu said the period he has been away has been an eye opener for him and called on Nigerians to pray and thank God on his behalf.

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos had in December 2019 convicted Kalu over alleged misappropriation of N7.1 billion belonging to Abia State Government.
The Supreme Court however nullified the trial and conviction of Kalu on the grounds that Justice Muhammad Idris, who handled the trial lacked the jurisdiction.
On his arrival, Kalu immediately went into the Tea Room to join the rest of the leadership of the Senate in a procession into the chamber for the business of the day
Inside the Chamber, Kalu reunited with many of his other colleagues who rallied around him.
