Nigeria’s former Minister for Women Affairs and Social Development, Aisha Alhassan is dead. The death of the 2015 Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Taraba State has been confirmed by her media aide, Abubakar Bala in Jalingo, the state capital.
Aisha Alhassan popularly known as Mama Taraba died in Cairo, Egypt, where she went for medical check-up. She died exactly one week after embarking on the medical trip.

The Former Minister was one of the outstanding female politicians that made great impact in Taraba State politics, and the country at large.
She had defected from the APC to the United Democratic Party, UDP where she contested the 2019 Governorship election in Taraba State before returning to the PDP, last year.
Aisha Alhassan died at the age of 61.
