The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Yekini Nabena, says he has taken over the office of National Publicity Secretary in acting capacity pending the time Lanre Issa-Onilu vacates a court order restraining him from duty.
A Sokoto High Court last week restrained the party from appointing or electing Issa-Onilu or any member into its top positions except through a National Convention.

In a statement signed on Sunday in Abuja, the Deputy National Spokesman said he would act pending the time Issa-Onilu sorts out the court matter.
Nabena said the APC remains a law abiding party and therefore, must be seen doing the right thing at all times, including respecting the order of the court.
When AIT contacted Issa-Onilu in response to a text message said “There’s no any such court judgement restraining me. He’s chasing shadow. I’ll speak to it soon”.
