Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade has called on the British Government not to leave the State alone in the task of caring for over sixty eight Cameroonian refugees who pose Security threat to the State especially along the borderlines.
Ayade made the call in Calabar when he received the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Gill Atkinson and her team in his office, saying Cross River State and the Britain have historical antecedent that should not be ignored.

The Governor said there is a growing security concerns with the threat posed by the Ambazonian separatist fighters in Southern Cameroon which shares boundaries with the state and solicited Britain’s assistance in the areas of security, a request the diplomat promised to take seriously.
The British Deputy High Commissioner who thanked the Governor for hosting her and her team; commended the state government’s strides in infrastructure and industrialization.
