Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed has joined millions of Nigerians to mark the passing of 2020 and the beginning of the new year.
In his New Year message, governor Bala said that, given the particular challenges of the outgone year, in which nations were confronted with daunting health, economic, security, and social challenges, express confidence that irrespective of ethnic coloration, political differences, or religious persuasion, the nation should be united in ushering in a new year of restoration and revival.
While congratulating Nigerians for overcoming the myriads of challenges in the year 2020, he said, never before, have the people been so gruesomely tested from Yellow and Lassa fevers to COVID 19, the various forms of a slowdown in the economy and ecological disaster to the ever-looming security challenges.
Governor Bala said, if people will take it all in their strides, relying on our historical resilience and rich heritage of trust in Almighty God, through the intervention of religious and traditional rulers, spared of the unfortunate ordeal of succumbing to these vicissitudes, the national challenges will be overcome.

He said the Year 2021 in Bauchi in particular, will be the year of consolidation in the gains of 2020, by putting the state on the path of growth, development and prosperity.
The governor called for a brace up for the second wave of COVID 19 and therefore appealed for prayers, cooperation, and understanding of the traditional and religious leaders, stakeholders, and politicians across party affiliations, for peace, tranquility, and prosperity to reign.
