President Muhammdu Buhari has been commended by the Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, for awarding the contract for the construction of the River Ibi Bridge, in Ibi Local Government Area of the state.
The contract which is worth 57 billion Naira is expected to link Taraba State to the central and southern parts of the country.
Governor Ishaku assured the contractors of the state government’s support and the cooperation of the host communities.
The Governor is glad that the project which has been on the drawing board since the 1960s has come to reality. He commended President Buhari for awarding the contract.
The project has a bridge of 2.4kilometres and a road of 8.4km.
Governor Ishaku was in Ibi Town to see the level of work done.
The representatives of the Federal Ministry of Works and the contractor said the project is at the soil investigation stage.

The River Ibi Bridge contract was awarded in 2018 and is expected to be completed in 2021.
