The Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has flagged off the construction of the 6.5 kilometers Umuaro- Nenu road in Obingwa Local Government Area of the state.
This is barely one week after he promised that work will commence on the road.
Speaking at the event Governor Ikpeazu while noting that the road is of significant economic value to the people, added that a total of 10 kilometers work will be executed to neighbouring Akwa Ibom state.

He expressed belief that the contractor handling the project will do a thorough job and called on the youths of the area to give him the needed support.
Former Deputy Governor of the state and Abia State representative at the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RAMFAC, Chris Akomas, while thanking the Governor on behalf of the people of Obingwa, noted that this is the first time the road is being constructed since the creation of the state
Already the Abia State Government has completed over sixty roads, while five more roads are ready for commissioning in Aba.
