Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa says the best way to avoid the coronavirus disease is for everyone to accept its reality and to keep to the laid down protocols.
Governor Okowa made this known during a thanksgiving service.
This is also coming after his family members also survived the COVID-19 infection.
He said god’s mercy saw them through the challenge.
Governor Okowa while recounting his experience in isolation said, three members of his family also contracted the disease and wondered how unimaginable and ridiculous it is for anyone to think that his family was offered money to declare that they tested positive.
The governor, as well as his wife Edith, said before now, the family had wanted to organise a thanksgiving to show gratitude to God for his goodness, victory in the 2015 election and his mercy on the family’s escape from a fire incident that engulfed his house some time ago.
He used the occasion to restate his desire to uplift Delta to a greater height.
He also advised his critics to tailor their criticisms on facts rather than fiction.
In his exhortation tagged “the lord triumphed gloriously”, the chaplain of the Delta State government house chapel, Charles Osemenam said, if not for God, the devil would have thrown the family into darkness.
