Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, has called on the Federal Government to review the curriculum of the Nigeria Correctional Service aligning it with the Criminal Justice System.
Governor Umahi made the call while receiving members of the House of Representatives Committee on Reformatory Institutions in Abakaliki, the state capital.
The federal lawmakers were in Ebonyi State to carry out on the spot assessment of the Correctional Service Centres in the state as part of their oversight functions.
Chairman of the Committee, Anayo Edwin, said the visit will enable members to make informed recommendations aimed at repositioning the country’s correctional service system in line with international best practices.

Governor Umahi, who was represented by his Deputy, Kelechi Igwe, enjoined the lawmakers to ensure a more conducive environment for inmates in correctional centres across the country.
