The Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, has proposed a total of 183 billion Naira for the 2020 fiscal year.
The budget tagged, “Budget of Rebirth”, earmarked a lion share to the education sector.
A sum of 97.4 billion naira is for capital development programmes and services while N85.9 billion naira is for recurrent services.
Out of the 2020 proposed budget, education sector got the lion share of 17 billion Naira, while 16 billion is earmarked for works, followed by the health sector with 10 billion Naira.
Presenting the Budget to the state House of Assembly, the Governor revealed the creation of two new ministries to cater for communities ravaged by insurgency.
They are to oversee reintegration and rehabilitation, as well as youth empowerment.
This is the first Appropriation Bill by the Fintiri administration, with priority placed on human capital development.
