Imo State government is proposing to spend three hundred and forty-six billion naira in 2021 to create jobs, stimulate the economy, and create wealth for the people.
This is contained in the 2021 budget estimate, presented to the State House of Assembly by Governor Hope Uzodinma.
While presenting the budget, tagged “Budget of Wealth Creation” Governor Uzodimma said the proposal is predicated on the policy trust of his administration, which is focused on Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction.
Governor Uzodimma stated that payment of new national minimum wage to workers in the state will commence in January next year.

He urged the state House of Assembly to give the document accelerated passage while assuring that his administration would continue to provide good governance to ensure the people attained their yearnings and aspirations.
The Speaker, Imo state House of Assembly, Paul Emeziem commended the Executive for demonstrating commitment towards addressing infrastructure deficit in the state.
The 2021 estimate is about 200 more than the 2020 estimate.
