Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has assured youths in the State that they will be the major focus of his administration when he assumes office for a second term on Thursday, November twelve.
The Governor gave the assurance while speaking at the 2020 Alaghodaro Youths Summit in Benin City, as part of activities lined up for his second term inauguration.
Addressing the 350 young men and women, who converged at the Festival Hall in Government House, and about 2, 500 who participated virtually, Governor Obaseki harped on the importance of youths participation in politics and the critical role they can play in engendering good governance.
Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, advised the youths not to see involvement in government as a money- making venture.
Governor Obaseki also flagged off the EdoJobs Internship and Apprenticeship Scheme stream four with the GIZ scheme and the EdoJobs leatherworks programme for returnees and youths living with disabilities.

There was a book launch about the A to Z of Job creation in the state from 2016- 2020 titled “How We Did It: Transforming the youths through skills, entrepreneurship, and innovation.”
The highpoint of the event was the presentation of awards to deserving persons and businesses in the area of job creation and to interns who distinguished themselves under the EdoJobs programme.
