The Chairman, South-East Governors Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, is challenging the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to pioneer electronic voting in the country, by adopting the system in its future electoral processes.
Umahi threw the challenge when he led stakeholders of the PDP to the grand finale of the party’s campaign which held at Pa Ngele Oruta Stadium, Abakaliki, ahead of Saturday’s local government elections in the State.
In attendance at the event were the national leadership of the main opposition political party in Nigeria, the PDP, led by its National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus.
Governor Umahi, while addressing the crowd minced no words in advocating for the digitization of the country’s electoral process.
Umahi believes that the struggles and desperation associated with elections in the country would stop if the voting system is digitalized.
