A team of healthcare volunteers has rescued a pregnant woman who was in serious labour at the Zonkwa internally displaced persons, IDPs camp in Southern Kaduna, North-West Nigeria.
Team leader, Precious Gambo and her colleagues who battled to ensure that the woman had a successful delivery says the IDPs are in dire need of adequate health services.
The Zonkwa IDPs camp is the largest in Southern Kaduna with over 300 persons who escaped from deadly attacks on the communities.

Charity Samaila who was in severe labour but had a successful delivery following the intervention of the healthcare volunteers, and Patience Peter who is suffering from 3 bullet wounds narrated their plight to ait.live.
For Reverend Gambo Yusuf who is a member of the team of volunteers while accessing the level of damage in the attacked communities appealed to government, corporate bodies and individuals to come up with modalities on how to resettle the displaced persons.
The victims of the recent wave of violence in Southern Kaduna say if government will rebuild their burnt houses and beef up security in their communities they will return back to their communities.
