The United States of America, USA, says the increasing level of Corrupt practices in Nigeria may be a threat to the 2023 general elections, with an assurance that the US will always monitor and support Nigeria on her democratic agenda.
Speaking at an engagement with interfaith groups and local communities on Anti corruption messaging in Calabar, the Cross River State Capital, US Political Officer in charge of consulate Office, Lagos, Janine Lewis said while the US will always be willing and ready to support Nigeria, only Nigerians can solve their Problem themselves.
Lewis who described Corruption In Nigeria as a huge challenge to the nation’s Growth and Development, said the act is eating deep into the Political system which must be unravelled, as the Country prepare for the 2023 General elections.

On their part,the Organisers of the interfaith programme,Bishop Emmah Isong and Imam Shefiu Majemu said fighting against corruption Should not be left for government alone,hence the essence of the programme.
The Event supported by Mac Arthur Foundation and the United States Government had in attendance, the Traditional Rulers, Religious leaders, Media Practitioners, Civil Society and Security Operatives.
