Members of the main opposition party, PDP in Nigeria’s House of Representatives on Thursday protested the outcome of the Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB, Conference Committee.
The committee is said to have adopted the 3% passed by the Senate for host communities.
Trouble started as Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila was about to take his seat when some lawmakers began chanting “it must be 5 percent”.
Gbajabiamila immediately called for a closed-door session to arrest the situation.

The House had passed 5% at plenary for the establishment of the Host Communities trust fund, while the senate reduced it to 3%
