The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has disclosed the identity of the Security aide on his convoy who shot at and killed an Abuja based newspaper vendor, as Abdullahi Hassan, an operative with the Department of State Services, DSS.

The Newspaper vendor, Ifeanyi Okereke was killed on Thursday at the Federal Secretariat Complex area, Abuja when the House Speaker stopped to exchange pleasantries with the vendors but the DSS operative fatally shot at the late vendor.

Giving an update on the matter, Gbajabiamila in Statement, personally signed by him on Friday said, the unfortunate death of Ifeanyi Okereke in the hands of one of his Security aides has left him deeply shaken.

Gbajabiamila explained that Okereke was a citizen going about his business, struggling to make a living for himself and his family, there is no reason for his life to have been taken the way it did.

On actions already taken on the unfortunate incident, Gbajabiamila said he is ready to interface with the family of the deceased just as he assured that he would push for justice for the victim.
