Civil Advocacy Group, Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has condemned in strong terms alleged rape and murder of Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa by unknown assailants in a church in Benin City.
Omozuea was a 100 level student of Microbiology student, University of Benin.
The National Coordinator, Emmanuel Nwuibiko in a statement called on the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu to immediately open a thorough investigation into the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Onwuibiko said the killers committed sacrilege against the Body of Christ; when they violated Omozuwa in a church and went on to deprive her constitutionally guaranteed fundamental Right to life as provided for in section 33(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
