The Nigeria cricket team will go in search of their first win at the ICC T-20 qualifying tournament in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday when they face Oman in their third group b fixture.
The yellow greens have suffered two defeats in their previous matches but will be aiming to take a cue from the two other African representatives Kenya and Namibia who have both won a match each.
Kenya defeated Bermuda by 45 runs on Tuesday while Namibia defied the odds to beat Scotland by 24 runs for their first win of the qualification campaign.
Nigeria’s coach Obruthe Ogbimi believes that the wins by the other 2 African countries will serve as extra motivation for the yellow-greens who have since returned to the net to address grey areas of their game.
Nigeria is currently at the bottom of the group B log with no runs and a negative net run rate of 2.975.
The winners of each group will progress to the semifinals while the next three best teams will enter a playoff for a spot in the semifinals.
The best six teams from the qualification tournament will join the established nations in the world cup finals in Australia next year.
