Former Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo’s hope of a permanent deal with Manchester United, may not sail through after his Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua asked him to return to China for pre-season training.
The 30-year old who arrived Old Trafford in January on a loan deal until the end of the season, had made a significant impact since joining the English Premiership Club, scoring 4 goals in 8 matches.
Ighalo’s form has led to suggestions that United could make attempt to keep him for a long term
However he may not get another chance to impress as Shanghai Shehua has rejected United’s offer to extend his loan deal.
Ighalo’s current contract with Manchester United will expire this weekend and the Premier League is not expected to resume until mid June
Meanwhile, Shangai Shenhua is demanding £ 20 million for an outright purchase of Odion Ighalo.
