The Inspector General Of Police Mohammed Adamu has approved the constitution of Community Policing Advisory Committee in Osun State
The much anticipated committee comprises of relevant groups such as traditional rulers, religious organisations, civil societies, labour leaders as well as socio-cultural organisations.
Stakeholders at the inauguration of the advisory committee were full of praise for the Federal Government. They described the effort as a creative and proactive solution to the security challenges in the state
The ceremony which took place at the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo saw people from diverse background pledging support for the smooth take off of the security body
With the highly disturbing experience of insecurity across the Country, the federal government came up with the initiative of community policing as a way of tackling the menace head long
The structure of the committee as constituted in Osun state is seen as collective effort towards achieving efficient security and safety architecture in various communities.

The community policing advisory committee has six structures from state to area commands, local governments and divisional communities.
