The acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Baba, has ordered the withdrawal of the senior police officers, from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police and above attached to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
In a letter dated April 15, 2021, addressed to the EFCC Chairman and signed by the Principal Staff Officer to the IGP, Idowu Omohunwa, the police boss said that the decision was based on the operational requirements of the force.

The affected officers are to report back at the Luis Edet House Abuja not later than this Wednesday.
Recall that the immediate past Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had last July, withdrew the riot policemen from the EFCC and replaced them with new officers.
Adamu had in a signal then, directed the police personnel from the Police Mobile Force 21, 44, 45, 46 and 50 to report to the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
