Despite the 24 hours curfew in Osun state, some angry youths in Ikire, the headquarters of Irewole Local Government Area on Monday invaded the palace; sacking the monarch, Akure of Ikire, Oba Olatunde Falabi, and his entire cabinet.
The rampaging youths stormed the palace around 10 am; throwing the entire town into panic.
The youths were protesting the non-implementation of a Supreme Court judgement which had declared the reign of Oba Olatunde Falabi as illegal.
Security operatives have been deployed to the town to forestall further breakdown of law and order.
The supreme Court had in 2014 ruled that it was not the turn of Oba Olatunde Falabi to be on the throne.
A similar judgement was delivered by the State High Court in Ikire few month ago.
