The Imo State Task Force on COVID-19 says it will henceforth subject all hospital patients to Coronavirus test.
The Task Force will thereafter quarantine any person discovered to be infected with the dreaded virus.
The Task Force Chairman, Professor Maurice Iwu, stated this while updating reporters on the Committee’s efforts to curtail the spread.
It was the first time the COVID-19 Task Force is addressing reporters in the state on the ravaging pandemic.

Though Imo State has not recorded any case, but the Task Force believes that all precautionary measures should be put in place in order to prevent the virus from having its way in the state.
Professor Iwu, therefore, called for vigilance, especially the conduct of tests on persons visiting general hospitals in the state for treatment.
Also, the Director of Public Health, Austin Okeji, explained the procedure that will be used to carrying out the tests.
The Task Force wants members of the public to desist from spreading false information capable of causing panic, explaining that fake news undermines collective efforts in the war against Coronavirus.
