Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Kayode Akande, has promised to provide maximum security for Calabar Rovers in all its away matches across the country.
The security escort according to Akande is needed due to the state of insecurity in the country and attacks on some football clubs convoy in some part of Nigeria.
Akande made this known when the management of Rovers FC led by the Chairman, Mr Ejen Ebam, paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Calabar.
The CP said the state Police Command would provide the needed support adding that he would take care of the welfare allowance of the officers that would travel with Rovers for their away matches.

The Chairman of Rovers Football Club, in his remarks, commended CP Akande for bringing a turn around in the security of the state, especially around the stadium
The Rovers management team presented branded jersey to the Commissioner of Police to invite him for an home match coming up at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
