Benin city, the Edo state capital has been thrown into jubilation as supporters and friends of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, thronged out to celebrate the victory of Governor Obaseki and his Deputy Phillip Shuaubu in Saturday 19 Governorship election.
They say it is a loud statement that the people appreciate their developmental projects in the state
The Deputy Governor Phillip Shuaibu in a victory dance as party leaders, supporters, and friends gathered at his residence to celebrate the victory of Obaseki and the Peoples Democratic Party for winning Saturday’s governorship election.

The leaders say God and the good people of Edo state and their trust in the Obaseki led government made the victory possible.
The victory they say is a loud statement to end godfatherism and interference in government activities.
With the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, winning the polls with a total vote of three hundred seven thousand, nine hundred and fifty five against that of the APC’s two hundred and twenty three thousand six hundred and nineteen,the deputy governor Phillip shauibu and other supporters say the victory is for more development of the state.
A total of fourteen political.parties contested in the election but the PDP and the APC Slugged it out at the polls.
