The Edo state judicial panel of inquiry headed by retired justice Ada Ehigiamusoe this Tuesday issued a warrant of arrest on a retired Divisional Police officer Carol Afegbua over her failure to appear before the panel after several summon letters were sent to her.
The retired DPO was asked to appear before the panel to give her own side of the story over the death of Ibrahim Momodu who died in a controversial circumstance in the hands of Police officers.
Thirteen petitions were slated for hearing at the Edo state judicial Panel of inquiry, one of the petitions was that of the family of late Ibrahim Momodu, who was said to have been killed and buried by Police officers.

The failure of the retired DPO Carol Afegbua who was in charge of Textile mill road Police station at the time the incident took place to appear before the panel to answer questions over her role in the boy’s death, prompted the judicial panel on police brutality to issue a warrant of arrest on her.
Also, the case of the late Benson Obode came up for hearing, the police counsel cross examined the deceased elder brother who came to testify.
Other cases of alleged police and soldiers brutality were also entertained this Tuesday by the panel of inquiry.
