Taraba State Government has lost over N14 billion to communal crisis in the southern part of the state, especially over the recurring Jukun/Tiv crisis.
This was part of the submission of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry set up by the State Government; investigating the cause of crisis between the Tiv ethnic group and its neighbours in the state.
The panel led by Justice Kummai Aka submitted its report to the State Government after two months of investigation.
The 7-man committee noted that the State has lost over N14 billion in the crisis.
To put an end to the crisis, the panel recommended proper demarcation of the border between Taraba and Benue States.
Receiving the report, the Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku assured that the report of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry will be used as a template to provide a lasting solution to the crisis.
