No fewer than 7 persons are said to have been abducted in Kadauri village in Jabaka District of Maru Local Government Area in Zamfara State, North-West Nigeria.
They are said to have been kidnapped by unrepentant bandits.
One person was said to have been shot on his leg by the gunmen who invaded Kadauri village. The victim is said to be currently receiving medical attention.
Six of the abductees are children of Sani Gyare while the other person is the daughter of his neighbour.
Sani Gyare Kadauri in a telephone interview with ait.live in Gusau said, the unrepentant bandits stormed the village at about midnight and operated till 2 am, before leaving with the abducted children.
He further said that a distress call was put through to the security agencies but they could not respond until 4am when the bandits had gone.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, said normalcy has been restored in the affected village.
He also said that a combined team of security operatives have been deployed to comb the bush to rescue the abducted persons unhurt, from their abductors.
