Members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, SSANU and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, have insisted that there is no going back on the nationwide strike already planned to begin on Friday, 5th of February.
This became evident, after an inconclusive conciliatory meeting with the Federal Government on Tuesday, February 2.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, who presided over the meeting, told journalists that most issues raised by the unions, have been addressed
However, leaders of the unions insisted that most of their critical demands are yet to be attended to.

The non-teaching staff are demanding for their members to be removed from the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information, IPPIS, as well as review, the sharing formula for the universities earned allowances, between academic and non-academic staff
The unions where led to the meeting by the president of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Haruna Mohammed and the general secretary on Nonacademic Staff Union of Universities, Peters Adeyemi.
