The President of the Community Court of Justice, ECOWAS, Justice Edward Asante has been re-elected for a second term of two years by his colleagues.
In an election conducted on 15th of July 2020 by the five judges of the Court, the Vice President, Justice Gberi-be Ouattara was also re-elected for another term of two years.
Justice Asante was first elected on 27th August, 2018 to replace Justice Jérôme Traoré from Burkina Faso.
Reacting to his re-election, Justice Asante commended his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to use the second term to consolidate on the court’s previous achievements in order to carry out the mandate of the court.
Justice Asante also commended the court for working tirelessly in contributing to its achievements particularly in the area of quick disposal of cases.

The five judges that make up the composition of the court are Justice Edward Asante who is the President, Justice Gberi-be Ouattara the Vice President, Justice Dupe Atoki , Justice Keikura Bangura and Justice Januaria Moreira.
