The Minister of State for Works and Housing, Abubakar Aliyu has insisted that the contractor handling the road construction of the Eastern by-pass, of the Kaduna-Zaria Dual Carriageway, has no excuse not to complete the project in good time.
The Minister stated this during an inspection tour to ascertain the level of work done on the project.
He said the delay in getting the work ready is putting more financial burden on the government.
The contract for the construction of the Eastern By-pass, a section of the Kaduna-Zaria dual carriageway project, was awarded in 2002 but was abandoned until 2017 when it was re-awarded with 2021 as the deadline.
Aliyu expressed concern over the speed of work.
