A group known as the Kano Concerned for Prudent Leadership has asked the Chairman, Kano Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission, Muhyi Magaji to open investigation into the several videos showing Governor Abdullahi Ganduje receiving bundles of dollars suspected to be kickback from contractors.
In a letter dated March 9th, 2020 addressed to the Chairman and signed by one Muhktar Sani Mandawari, the group calls on the Commission to invoke its powers under the law and cause a thorough investigation into the matter and make its findings known.
The group said it is not unaware of the Governor’s constitutional immunity against prosecution but it says the Commission is not barred from investigating him as EFCC did against ex-Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayode while in office.
The Commission is investigating the deposed Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II over alleged misappropriation of Kano Emirate funds and lands.

This petition is likely to be an indirect response to the dethronement of Emir Sanusi from office on Monday by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
