Kano State House of Assembly has passed the state Emirate Council Amendment Bill 2019.
The bill when signed into law will give legal backing to the creation four new emirates in the state.
Consideration of the bill was done in the committee of the whole house and was passed in plenary after the bill scaled third reading.
The bill will be passed to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for his signature.
Majority leader of the house Labaran Madari told newsmen that over 800 memoranda received supported passing the bill.
He said contrary to media report there was no opposition to the bill even by members of the PDP in the assembly.
The assembly also approved the governor’s request to appoint 25 special advisers before it adjourned to December 16th.
