The chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, KANSIEC, Professor Garba Sheka says all is set for Saturday’s local government election.
Professor Sheka who said this to a team of observers billed to monitor the election said 12 political parties including the People’s Democratic Party, PDP are contesting.
Meanwhile, three factions of the PDP are divided over the election. The faction loyal to Ambassador Aminu Wali had submitted candidates for the election, while the faction of the former governor Rabiu Kwankwaso said it will not participate in the election which it says has predetermined outcomes.

The Kwankwaso faction said it had sued the electoral commission KANSIEC for printing the PDP logo on the ballot papers.
A third faction made up largely of political disciples of the late Abubakar Rimi has, however, been relatively silent on the election.
