Electricity consumers in Kano state north west Nigeria wonder why electricity tariff remain high dispite the reverse order given by the National Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, to distribution companies .
ait.live findings in Kano show that the electricity distribution company is yet to comply with the directives of the regulatory body NERC.
The electricity tariff hike was suspended following government intervention in the matter.
However, electricity consumers in Kano said the cost of electricity remains high despite the directives by the Nigeria electricity regulatory commission to reverse the earlier increase.

The consumers also called on the government to prevail on the distribution companies to comply with it directives.
Officials of the Kano Electricity Distribution Company did not respond to enquiries on the increase.
