The Kano State Government has announced a ban on the activities of viewing and event centres across the state, following the rising cases of COVID-19.

The Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba who disclosed this in a press release, said the measure is among decisions reached at a meeting with relevant authorities and stakeholders.

Other decisions taken include the directive to all civil servants in the state to stay at home, pending further instructions.

Workers on essential services, such as healthcare service providers, fire service officials, security guards, and the media are exempted from the ban.
