Police in Kano have arrested Abubakar Ismail, 30, a resident of Wangara village in the Rimini Gado local government area suspected to be the armorer of the kidnap syndicate that abducted Kreser Frank Micheal a 59-year-old German national working with Dantata and Sawoe construction in April 2018.
A statement signed by police public relations officer DSP Abdullahi Haruna said 32 months after the incident the suspected armorer led detectives to their armory in their village where one AK47 rifle, a single barrel gun, and revolver were recovered.
The statement adds that the suspect confessed to the crime saying the Gang has been attacking people around Gwarzo, Karaye, Kiru, Rano, and Tudun Wada as well as neighboring Kaduna and Katsina states.
The suspect also named other members of the syndicate as police continue its manhunt of fleeing collaborators.

The police also arrested one Salmanu Bashir who confessed to committing the offense of breaking into a warehouse and stealing valuables worth 8 million naira.
The statement assures residents of Kano adequate security during and after Christmas celebrations even as it warns against the use of knockouts during the yuletide.
