The President of the Nigeria’s foremost Youth Sports Organising body YSFON and Deputy Governor of Kano State, Dr Nasiru Gawuna has said that the State Government is seriously committed to giving the Nigerian Youths the necessary opportunity to improve their status by engaging them productively through football.
Dr Gawuna says although there is the common fear of Covid-19 Pandemic, he assured all the visiting teams, that the Kano state government is determined to provide the enabling environment to guarantee their safety.
YSFON Insists that every Coronavirus safety protocols would be strictly adhered to during the tournament and warns both players and officials, to abide by NCDC guidelines through out the duration of the competition.
The annual under 16 football tournament in honour of the late Head of State General Murtala Ramat Mohammed, will take place at the popular Kano Pillars stadium in kano from February 5th to 13th.

The National Secretary of YSFON Patrick Okpavuerhe says preparations for the Championship started on January 13th through the state play- offs and will end on the 27th of January 2021.
The body advised all state chapters to ensure their players are registered accordingly.
YSFON insisted that respective States must also follow the technical Committee’s laid down rules and regulations to ensure that all the players are not overaged as ineligible ones will be disqualified.
The Youths Sports Federation Of Nigeria has over the years made wonderful in roads in youth football tournament across the globe discovering great players that brought honours to the country through their exploits.
