Some Kano residents have implored the newly appointed service chiefs to prioritize intelligence gathering, coordination of internal security operation, and synergy with communities, to end insecurity in the country.
The residents also want the service chiefs to learn from the failures of their predecessors, to avoid repeating same mistakes.
Kano State has suffered in the past from attacks, organised by the Boko Haram insurgent group.
In recent times, kidnapping, banditry and abduction of children are major security concern for its residents.
Appointment of the new service chiefs raises the hope of many residents that the security challenges confronting the country, may be addressed.
The residents want the new service chiefs to begin the job without wasting time.
Other residents offer prayers for the military chiefs to succeed.

Many Nigerians including members of the National Assembly have demanded the removal of the former service chiefs for failing to address the rising insecurity in the country.
