Following the rise in number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in Kano State, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has ordered the immediate conversion of the Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital Giginyu to an isolation centre for the treatment of people who have tested positive to the virus.
A statement signed by Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Salihu Tanko Yakasai said category of people that will be accommodated at the hospital are confirmed positive cases that have mild or no symptoms.
The statement added that normal health services in the hospital have been suspended.

People were directed to visit other medical facilities for health care.
Kano has a 14-bed isolation centre following the earlier conversion of the Kwanar Dawaki Hospital into an isolation centre. Aliko Dangote also donated 500-bed facility at the Sani Abacha Stadium that has also been converted into isolation centre.
