Governor of Kano State, North West Nigeria, Abba Yusuf, says his administration will do everything possible to reduce the number of out of school children in the state through the introduction of programmes and policies aimed at arousing the interests of school age children.
Governor Abba was speaking at the flag off of the distribution of free educational support materials to students and teachers from nine thousand basic and secondary schools across the forty four local government areas of the state.

In fulfillment of one of his campaign promises in the education sector, Governor Abba Yusuf flagged off the distribution of various educational resource materials consisting of learning, teaching and instructional materials for teachers and students.
The Governor told the people that he has since channeled attention to the issue of girl child education in the state with massive infrastructural upgrade in various schools across the state to make educational environments conducive and attractive for learning.
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Education, Umar Abba had outlined the number of interventions in the education sector undertaken by the Governor Abba Yusuf led administration since assumption of office.
